Bearing Fruit and Changing Lives

April 1, 2009

Spring is here…a time when we begin to think about new growth, new shoots and buds, new possibilities, new life.

For over 60 years Mustard Seed has faithfully sown the seeds of God’s Word in season and out of season. God has honored these Great Commission efforts by allowing us to witness firsthand the fruits of Kingdom building. As seasons pass, and new ones begin, may we continue to experience the joy of seeing the lost accept Christ and His transforming power around the world. We pray God will nourish our work with new roots which will sprout, blossom and produce more fruit.

God uses many means to spread His Word around the world. One such instance was that of a young missionary couple who first began their ministry in the 1960’s. Their book Peace Child tells the unforgettable story of their lives among headhunters and cannibals in a cluster of remote jungle villages in Southeast Asia. For centuries the primitive tribal inhabitants had little or no contact with the outside world. Through the faithful dedication of this missionary couple, many tribesmen and women came to understand the truth of the Gospel and began to emerge from spiritual darkness into God’s light.

MSI’s Dr. Jeppry, his wife, Bety, and children, Angie and Kenji, are committed to ministering to the medical needs of the people in remote jungle villages of Southeast Asia.

Although Mustard Seed was not part of the initial planting of the Gospel among these people, we have recently become God’s instrument for a new season of planting and growth among them. When asked, we made a commitment to those villages and their leaders. MSI will provide Christian schools and basic health care for these needy people. We have faith that God can and will use these new ministries to raise up a new generation of believers.

Even today, this area remains quite remote and is only accessible by boat along an extensive river and canal system, or by float plane. We are pleased to let you know that God had provided an MSI sponsored doctor who is now living there and providing compassionate, Christ-like, medical care to the tribal people. Praise God for providing this opportunity for MSI to be the hands and feet of Christ.

Thank you for prayerfully and financially supporting the missions ministry of Mustard Seed International. Your generous giving enables us to communicate Christ in a meaningful way to lost and hurting people around the world.
