We value your partnership with us in the Lord’s work as a special trust from God. From the time Lillian Dickson started the work of Mustard Seed in 1948, we have held ourselves accountable to God and to you in our stewardship of your gifts. We therefore promise to:
- Follow biblical principles in using your gifts to the glory of God.
- Follow standard accounting practices for nonprofit organizations as established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
- Fully disclose all of our operating and ministry costs in a detailed annual report which is audited by a CPA firm and is available to anyone who requests it.
The laws of the state in which we are incorporated as a nonprofit organization and the requirements of the IRS code mandate that our Board of Directors must control all of the organization’s funds and be able to allocate the use of those funds so that our exempt purpose may be carried out.
Within the bounds of those legal requirements, Mustard Seed’s policy is to honor donor designations of preference for the use of their gifts. If such preference cannot be honored because of over-funding of a project or unavoidable cancellation of a project, the funds will be used for a similar project approved by the Board of Directors.
We value your trust and want to assure you that we maintain the confidentiality of our mailing lists. We are committed to responsible administration, honest, truthful advertising and efficient fund-raising.
