May 2017 Prayer Calendar

 May 01: John 14.1-14 Pray that the teachers & students would be inspired by the Holy Spirit to do the works of the Father. Pray that they would not be intimidated to step out & boldly declare their faith in Jesus.

02: Acts 2.40-47 Please pray that our teenagers would not be lead astray by the corruption in their generation but would lead righteous lives that honor God.

03: 1 Peter 2.4-25 Pray for those who are faced with sickness & disease that they may be healed.

04: Proverbs 30.7-32 Pray for a long-time national staff member who is in the long process of recovering from tuberculosis.

05: Psalm 23 Pray for refreshment & guidance for workers who may be feeling weary or lacking direction.

06: John 10.1-10 Please pray that our teenagers would know the voice of the Good Shepherd & the voice of the stranger they would not follow.

Sunday 07-08: Ezekiel 34 Please pray that those who are scattered would find themselves in the comfort of Christian community so that they can be taught & grow in the Lord.

09-11: Acts 6.8-8.1a Pray that the workers on the field would be sensitive to the Holy Spirit so that they might see clearly the good they need to do for God in each situation they face.

12: Psalm 31 Pray for strong & courageous hearts for all those who are struggling with fear.

13: Acts 1.12-26 Pray for MSI leaders to hate sin & to fight it with all the weapons God has given.

Sunday 14: Proverbs 31.10-31 Happy Mother’s Day! Pray for God’s grace for all mothers to fulfill the call that God has placed on their lives to raise the next generation in the ways of the Lord.

15: John 15.1-17 Please pray S, an American teenager who has grown up on the field & turns 17 today!  Pray for God's blessing on him as he finishes 11th grade & prepares to start his senior year of high school.

16: 1 Peter 3.8-22 Pray that Christ would be sanctified as Lord in the hearts of our teenagers so that they would always be ready to make a defense, with gentleness & reverence, to everyone who asks them to give account for the hope that is in them.

17: Psalm 66 Pray for the new principal of a school in a very difficult neighborhood.  Pray for the school's good reputation to keep increasing & for people to connect the goodness of the school with the goodness of the Living God. 

18: Acts 15.22-35 Pray for an MSI Christian school that will lose their building in August.  Please ask God to provide an even better place for them to serve the community around them. 

19-20: Acts 17 Please pray for E, a little boy who turns 2 today! He & his parents have been in Southeast Asia for 3 years & recently returned home for the birth of a new baby.

Sunday 21: John 14.15-31 Pray that the Helper, the Holy Spirit, will be with our team on the field.

22: Ephesians 1 Pray that the eyes of our student’s hearts may be enlightened, so that they will know what is the hope of their calling, the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints & the surpassing greatness of His power towards us who believe.

23: Psalm 47 Shout to God with joyful praise! For the Lord Most High is awesome. He is the great King of all the earth.

24: Acts 1.1-11 Please pray for the TransformNation teachers to be bold witnesses to the remotest parts of the earth.

25: Luke 24.36-53 Pray for children who are not in school because of poverty or lack of parental supervision. Please ask God to lead these children to Christian schools & programs where they will hear the Gospel & respond.

26-27: 1 Peter 4-5 Pray for the pastors to be shepherds of God’s flock, watching over with an eagerness to serve & be examples to them.

Sunday 28: John 17.1-11 Pray for MSI staff to dig deeper in God's Word & to grow in their character, as well as in their ability to minister in challenging situations.

29: 1 Samuel 1.1-18 Please pray for E, a sweet girl who turns 10 today! She & her parents have been in Southeast Asia for almost 2 years.

30: 1 Samuel 1.19-2.11 Please pray for C, a woman from the USA who is serving in Southeast Asia, on her birthday today.

31: Luke 1.39-56 Please pray for J, a young man who has grown up on the field and graduates from high school today!  Pray for God's blessing on him as he finishes this chapter of his life & prepares to start college in the fall.
