A testimony of Teacher Esther from Ngadulanggi School on Sumba Island. Her story reminds us that when seeds are sown in faith, God brings the growth.
SUMBA AND FLORES
The islands of Sumba and Flores, part of the Lesser Sunda Islands in Eastern Indonesia, are key areas for transformative education initiatives.
In 2017, a pioneering school was established in Sumba, serving as a model for Christian education across the island. It also provides training and support for 67 village teachers working in 25 remote schools. Expanding this mission, a partner school was founded on Flores Island in 2020, with Mustard Seed sending teachers since 2021. The school now educates 31 students with 5 teachers. In 2024, another partner school opened in western Sumba, providing education to 13 students with 2 dedicated teachers, further advancing the reach of quality Christian education in these remote regions.
