God's work through Mustard Seed in Papua dates back to 1971 when Lillian Dickson started trade schools, farming schools, and girls' homecraft centers. Now, the work continues as the need for teachers and schools is ever-increasing.

Papuan people stand as the most illiterate community throughout Indonesia. Tribal wars, cultural barriers, political disputes, and extreme landscapes are to blame. There are still children who walk more than 15km every day just to reach the nearest school. But hope arises for communities in the Papuan Highlands, as Mustard Seed’s teachers are present to teach the children.
