Keep Strong

It’s urgent that you listen carefully to this: Anyone here who believes what I am saying right now and aligns himself with the Father, who has in fact put me in charge, has at this very moment the real, lasting life and is no longer condemned to be an outsider. This person has taken a giant step from the world of the dead to the world of the living. (John 5:24, MSG)

Meet Ari, MSI's site leader on the Island of Promise. Following the recent regulations from the regional government to stop the spread of Covid-19, schools on the island have been forced to close. Children continue their studies at home with their parents who come every other day to get material from the teachers. They were educated on how to practice proper personal hygiene, as well as tips on how to boost their immune systems. Several villages on the Island of Promise lack access to clean water, making the people extremely vulnerable and at greater risk of catching the virus.

Earlier this week, Ari shared: “The world is in chaos right now. All of us are affected. On the Island of Promise, we feel the fear. We are scared of what we are hearing in the news about this virus and how it would affect us if it reached here. But I believe in one thing, God will take care of us. Our faith is in God, who is our Strength.”

As we are entering Holy Week, we remember when Jesus entered Jerusalem. John 12:15 says “Do not be afraid… see, your King is coming.” Although we are still coming to terms with our present circumstances, let us focus on Jesus who has come into our lives as our Ever Present King.
