Relying on God

Meet Evan. A third year TransformNation student who was raised in a remote village where he experienced many challenges, but he also experienced God's faithfulness time and time again. Today he shares his thoughts to encourage us all as we are living through this pandemic situation:

I remember when we first entered into 2020. There was a lot of excitement and enthusiasm. We made plans and commitments. We thanked God that we finished 2019 well. Little did we know that a tiny virus would change the course of human history. All of a sudden, we are living in a different world.

I keep reminding myself that I have an almighty God, an omniscient God. I believe that God who created us will take care of us. He is the God who keeps His promises. Nobody and nothing can fail His plans, including Covid-19. He is our Shepherd who protects us, as it is written in Proverbs 3:25-26: “Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for the Lord will be at your side and will keep your foot from being snared.”

Let our hearts be strong in faith, even in the most frightening situations, because God is right beside us to help us. Remember His promises in Psalm 27:1, “The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?” and Psalm 46:1-2, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth gives way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea.”

Let us use our challenges and difficulties as a way to train ourselves to put our faith in God, to trust that He will always be with us and keep us safe. So, my beloved brethren in our Lord Jesus Christ, take heart. We have an almighty God. Do not let your heart be afraid of everything happening around us. Let us put our faith in our Lord, and focus on Him.

Be strong and take heart! God is with us.
