Stay Strong

Siela, one of our TfN interns, has a unique background in the sense that her own family tried to stand in her way when she wanted to pursue an education. With courage and determination, she stood up for herself and, as a result, recently graduated with a Bachelor of Education. She is now leading one of Mustard Seed’s newest schools. These are her thoughts in regards to staying strong during the pandemic:

For several weeks I’ve witnessed how people are trying to protect themselves. They are panicked, restless, upset, and frightened. Even though I am here in a remote area, the waves of fear have smashed against our island. I guess there’s no exception when dealing with a disease with no cure.

To be honest, I have also felt the same way but I’ve been learning not to let my feelings control me. When something discouraging comes my way, I take courage and focus on God’s promises. Psalm 121 is my guidance now. My help comes from the Lord. He will neither slumber nor sleep.

I am aware that when God doesn’t remove our problems, He will give us strength to overcome them. As we run to Him, we will experience the peace that surpasses all understanding right in the midst of the storm.

God keep you.
