Female Interns Igniting Transformation in the Toughest Places

by | Nov 15, 2023

2023 has been a remarkable year for the TransformNation teacher-training program. A group of twelve female interns, who graduated in June, have embarked on a quest to bring hope to underserved places. The chart below shows where they are serving. They share their thoughts of gratitude and hope as they embark on the next step of their journeys.

1. GAPANAU ISLAND

LIANA – I’m putting in my best effort because I understand how essential quality teachers are for children in remote areas.

KARIN – God provides numerous chances to put into practice all that we learned from TfN. I’m still learning about humility, and it’s incredible to see how God is shaping me.

2. KUMBANG ISLAND

LUCY – I’m thankful to be part of TfN and for the people who support and pray for me. Sometimes I’m afraid, but the letters and Bible verses from my donor always brings a smile to my face.

TANIA – I’m incredibly thankful for the journey that led me to earn my bachelor’s degree in education. The prayer support has been a source of strength for me.

3. ISLAND OF PROMISE

JELIA – I’m thankful for the supportive community in TfN, and learning to grow closer to Jesus has been invaluable. I never imagined I could achieve my degree without the help of the people in the TfN program.

4. HARTA'S VILLAGE, PAPUA

LANI – The ongoing tribal conflicts made me quite anxious about the situation here. However, the letters from my sponsor keeps uplifting my spirit. I’m grateful for the chance to show love to the children of Papua.

5. RUSEN ISLAND

DORINA – I’m truly amazed by God’s kindness. TfN has shown me that through God, there is surely a future hope for me, and my hope will not be cut off.

MIA – Though the journey has been filled with challenges, my four years of education at TfN have been marked by a deep sense of God’s presence and love. I hold onto the hope that, through my teaching, my students will have the opportunity to experience the profound love of Christ in their lives.

6. SORONG

NETIA – My sponsor has truly been a blessing from God. I pray that more people sense the same love of Jesus that has been my source of strength.

RANATA – I am grateful for the individuals who show their love and support through financial help and prayers, even though we have never met in person.

7. PAPUAN HIGHLANDS

TIKA – Thank you for always reminding me that Jesus is walking alongside me in this journey. I always feel deeply loved.

WENDY – The letters from my sponsor have been a tremendous blessing, showing me the incredible power of our God. TfN equipped me to teach my students.
